Over 200 Topics Added to Health-PALS™
In 2008, year-to-date, Lexi-Comp has added 232 new Health-PALS to Lexi-Comp ONLINE! Health-PALS, our patient advisory leaflets covering conditions and procedures, complement Lexi-Comp Adult-PALS™ and Pediatric-PALS™, our adult and pediatric drug information leaflets. Health-PALS are available through the Patient Care Module within Lexi-Comp ONLINE.
Direct Linking to PubMed in Lexi-Comp ONLINE
We are pleased to announce an exciting new feature in Lexi-Comp ONLINE: direct linkages from monograph references to PubMed. Within a drug monograph, every reference is now annotated and linked to the article's abstract in PubMed. This brings added depth to Lexi-Comp ONLINE that will allow for a more robust user experience and will dramatically decrease the time necessary for thorough research of topics.

Enhanced Functionality in the Lexi-Drug ID
Module
Lexi-Comp has added to the search function
capabilities within Lexi-Drug ID, our comprehensive drug identification
program. Now when you enter the characteristics or imprint information
of a drug, the results that match your criteria are dynamically
displayed. Adding additional criteria such as color or shape will
further refine your search results. These features are now available by
clicking on the Drug ID button from the top left search panel of
Lexi-Comp ONLINE.
Lexi-Comp ONLINE with AHFS Now Available!
Lexi-Comp has partnered with ASHP to integrate AHFS
drug information into our ONLINE platform. This exciting enhancement
pairs two industry-leading drug content providers to deliver both
point-of-care and in-depth drug information in a single application. To

Patient Care Module
Available through Lexi-Comp ONLINE, our Patient Care
Module allows healthcare providers to quickly access, compile, and
print a packet of Patient Advisory Leaflets. Each patient education
packet includes a Patient Summary page detailing the contents (with any
special notes), and a Signature page for internal documentation of the
patient education process.

Brand Name Search Results
We have enhanced the search capability of our ONLINE
platform, making it even easier to find the specific drug you are
looking for. You can now receive results within each database by
searching for information using a drug's brand name. This new searching
capability shows the brand name listing, followed by the notation "U.S.
Brand Name for [generic drug name]...". The notation will detail why
the query matched your search parameters across the name search field.
Other references would include matches to Canadian Brand Names,
International Brand Names, Synonyms, Related Information, and
Pharmacologic/Therapeutic Category Fields. The enhancement also
provides an 'exact match' result. For example, if you search for
Tylenol®, you receive exact matches for only Tylenol first. The
results are also edited so that only one link for the same monograph
returns.
In addition to these search enhancements, you can
also search directly for Canadian and International Brand Names through
the drop-down 'Within' option of the search panel. Also, if you are
using an 'Alternative To' field for therapeutic interchanges, your
search results will say 'Drug 1 substitute with Drug 2'.
New Monograph Field in Pediatrics Database
We have added a Lactation field to Pediatric
Lexi-Drugs. This field provides valuable information about a drug's
effect on lactation and is complementary to the existing Pregnancy Risk
Factor field.
